Sites of remembrance and monuments represent historical narratives and reflect societal attitudes. In a seminar, students from the Photography and Book Art/Graphic Design departments at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig engaged with key historical events in Leipzig and the sites of remembrance associated with them.

What is remembered today, and how? Which narratives are evoked, and which remain unspoken? How does a younger generation view the memorial symbolism of previous generations? And which present and future concerns do the students address in their works?

The edition brings together artistic postcards in which the students critically and, at times, ironically engage with the representation of history. The project was presented at MZIN at the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig.
